Norwich, England, August 4, 2026 — In a musical world fraught with digital emulations, overly dense arrangements, and pitch correction software, Wayne Taylor's [aka Tomorrow The Cure] music serves as a reminder that authentic analogue synthesis, tactile controls, and electronic circuitry can be imitated, but never replaced. Taylor's YouTube channel, @DreamsOfWires, has been operating for more than 15 years, striking the perfect balance between analogue technology and performance creativity.

"When I first started, I was using only software synths before I could afford genuine hardware," Taylor says. “The digital/virtual stuff impresses me, but the character and physicality of real analogue synths is where my heart is. I couldn’t wait to stop using computers and software because I was fed up with crashes and non-musical hassles, but mostly the passion-killing disconnect of staring at a screen and using a mouse to get the sounds I wanted" he says. "When you make music with soft-synths on a computer rather than a real thing, it’s just not the same experience. Of course you can do far more with computers, but from a creative or musical perspective that can become part of the problem.”

\u200bTaylor is used to the tactile feel of musical instruments, getting his start originally as a guitarist. Currently, he is also a guitarist in the doom metal band Warning (UK), with which has performed/toured across Europe and the USA over the last 10 years. His appreciation for synthesis and electronic music came via the electronic ‘Synthpop’ he remembers as a child, along with movie and TV soundtracks, especially Doctor Who, before later discovering the rest of the back-catalogues of artists such as Gary Numan and other early 80’s synthpop bands, the ingenious creativity of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, and later the music of Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream.

Authenticity is key
\u200bFor Taylor, authenticity is key - which is among the qualities he finds while using AJH Synths: "I love the tactile, direct interaction with real analogue synths and the sounds they produce. Knowing it’s the same old technology; electricity passing through primitive circuits, there’s an authenticity to it, and its character is perfectly imperfect."

Taylor's own compositions, including Two Voices and Grey Days and Old Ways feature wonderfully sparse soundscapes and minimalist analogue textures. His love for sparse analogue sounds derives from early, often very simple, technology: “Some of my favorite pieces were done in the early ‘70s on an old EMS Synthi VCS3 - a tiny little thing compared to other synths at the time. This device was primitive by modern standards, but it inspired me to appreciate the sounds of analog synths on their own, rather than having loads of synths and stacking them on top of each other."

On discovering AJH Synth
\u200bAround the late 2000s, Taylor began building his own Eurorack modular system and had amassed a small collection before finally discovering AJH Synth: "Once I landed on the AJH stuff I never looked back," he recalls. "These instruments totally hit the nail on the head of what I wanted in terms of sound and physical form. They are arranged in a way that is so musical to use: the sockets are at the bottom and out of the way, and the controls are free for your hands to maneuver, which makes creating sounds and ’tweaking’ them very intuitive and enjoyable."

Most of all, he was drawn to the sound: "At the core of why I like these AJH Synth instruments is the raw sounds that they make," he says. "I like to give these sounds more space in my compositions. Very often I’ll use just two or three voices. I like to keep things simple, and I like the concept of ‘less is more’ and 'doing more with less."

Among his favorites are the Vintage Transistor Core VCO - a faithful emulation of the original R.A. Moog Minimoog Model D oscillator, as well as the Transistor Ladder Filter, the Gemini 2412 Filter, and Ring SM. Aside from becoming a passionate user of AJH Synth modules, he has also befriended founder and lead designer, Allan Hall. "Allan loves this stuff and is very passionate about it," says Taylor. "He will take old designs, then open them up into so many ways they can be interacted with and used. He packs in so many useful features for the user, and without compromise.

AJH Synth: an evolving ecosystem
\u200bTaylor's AJH Synth system has grown organically, and each new module works synergistically with the larger system as a whole: "Allan knows that each new module has got to fit into the existing ecosystem," Taylor explains. "All these instruments are designed to fit into the family - not just in terms of the physical and aesthetic design, but also regarding the connectivity, and how you can use each new instrument to get more out of the other modules."

About AJH Synth
\u200bAJH Synth is headed up by Allan J Hall, who has been involved with synths, electronics and music for several decades. He started by building a guitar fuzz box at the tender age of 12 and his interest in synthesisers and electronic music soon followed, fueled by an unhealthy overexposure to early Tangerine Dream, Pink Floyd, Vangelis and Kitaro. For the last 15

years he has been building and modding synth systems both for himself and other electronic musicians, as well as spending some time as a semi-pro musician playing keyboards in several rock and tribute bands. Allan spent five years as a service technician repairing and modifying Moog, Arp, Korg, Roland and other analogue synthesisers along with some Pro Audio design work, previous to this he spent two years designing and building "boutique" valve (tube) guitar amplifiers.
